Being healthy isn't just about physical aspects like eating better and getting exercise. It's about all aspects of your health: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually


Our human body is a marvellous creation. It's our responsibility to nurture and to provide essential nutrients  by taking healthy food. Not just healthy food, sleep also plays vital role in maintaining our body healthy. We can live without food for 11 days. But we cannot live more than 11 days without sleeping.

Hence it is very important to make healthy habits before going to bed to fall asleep quickly. This way we not only save lot of time, but also we can have uninterrupted and peaceful sleep routine everyday.

  1. Drinking Water: Stop drinking lots of water before going to bed. Because this habit will wake you up 2 to 3 times in the middle of the night. There is specific timing to drink water for better health.
  2. BedTime Routine: Try to have a same bedtime routine every day. This will help your brain to shut down every day same time so that falling asleep is much easier. Try to avoid long naps during the daytime.
  3. Electronic Devices: You should keep your electronic devices like laptop, smartphone away at least an hour before. The brightness that comes from these device will make brain active. So it is difficult to fall asleep within few minutes. 
  4. Book Reading: If you have a habit of reading a book before going to bed, it's recommendable not to read. Yes you read it right. NOT to read. You should never bring the book to the bed.
  5. Alarm Clock: Choose wisely alarm clocks and bed lamps. Alarm clocks should not have numbers with high brightness. The light from the screen may cause you to wake up during mid night.
  6. Mattress: Don't buy a cheap and low quality mattresses. You should always buy a high quality mattress. This will allow you to sleep like a baby, which will keep you fresh and sound.
  7. Heavy Meals: You should eat your meal at least 2 hours before you go to bed. But if you sleep with heavy meal or full stomach your body is awake to digest the food. So it is not only allows you to sleep properly but also creates digestion problems.
  8. Exercise: You should exercise everyday, because exercise makes your body tired. It will help you to fall asleep quickly. But don't do exercise 3 hours before your bedtime.
  9. Cold feet: If your feet is cold, you can't fall asleep immediately. Make your feet warm by wearing socks or by using heat pad.
  10. Caffeine: You shouldn't drink caffeine at least 4 hours before you go to bed. Caffeine boosts your metabolism and keep you refreshed.
  11. Sleeping Position: You should choose best sleeping position to avoid sore back, shoulder and even neck. Avoid sleeping on back and tummy. Best position is to sleep on either sides.
