          Most of us not aware about brown rice or unpolished rice, as in this modern world, people tends to eat more processed foods than natural foods.   In ancient days people used to eat brown rice. They were very healthy and used to live for long years. But, nowadays on an average a human being life span brought down to 60 years!  What’s wrong with us? Brown rice is one of the whole grains.  It is simply the white rice, which has not had the brown coloured bran covering removed. In another words, it is the rice, which has not been hulled, leaving the outer layer of the bran. Most people prefer white rice, since brown rice is fluffier and cooks faster than brown rice. But no one knows white rice is a slow poison.  Since, Brown rice has the bran intact, which has more fibre than white rice. One cup of brown rice has 31/2 grams of fibre while the same amount of white rice has less than a gram of fibre. Now you can decide whether to eat brown rice or white rice.

Moreover, brown rice also contains nutrients like magnesium, manganese, B-complex and zinc. And brown rice has antioxidants and phytonutrients that boosts the immune system, lowers cholesterol, reduces risk of heart disease, stroke and colon cancer, and reduces severity of asthma. Eating brown rice daily reduces the risk of type2 diabetes as well. White flour and white rice both are highly processed foods and increase your blood sugar levels more than brown rice will. If we eat lot of foods that increase blood sugar levels, you can begin to develop insulin resistance.
