NATUROPATHY DIET FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Weight reduction is one of the problems, stick to us, if we neglect our food habits and our food timings. Once it sticks to us, it ruins us physically and mentally too. Due to the heavy weight, we may get diabetes, joint pains, irregular periods, cardiac diseases, etc. Many of us think a lot to try to reduce overweight but never initiate.

Few of us, initiate but they follow the strict diet, which makes us sick and tired, as we failed to supply enough nutritious food and energy levels to our body. This sort of strict diet makes our skin looks dull and dry, and hormonal imbalance prone to irregular periods in women. Hence we have to reduce weight in a healthy way.

First of all, we have to see what sort of food mainly we eat. In the entire world, the food habits are completely region dependent. For example, few people used to eat rice more. And few are used to eat more cheese and potato. Firstly, we have to find what sort of food mainly we eat. If that is causing more weight, then we have to reduce or stop that food and supplement it with other nutritious food, which doesn’t have fat. Eating more rice and cheese has more risk in increasing weight. 1Kg of rice has 3000 calories or more. Hence, we can supplement rice with wheat made pulkas(chapatti without oil). Wheat flour gives more energy which is equal to rice, but it doesn’t accumulate any extra fat in our body.

Now we will see the balanced and natural diet, to reduce heavyweight.
1)In the morning as soon as you get up, drink 1-2 litres of water, with an empty stomach. Water not only helps to cleanse our body, it burns fat. To drink water there is timings and routine to follow for better results.

After drinking water, finish toilet and start doing exercise.
It can be Aerobics, Yoga or Pranayama or go to the gym, anything which you like.
2)After exercise, drink vegetable juice (can be mixed with carrots, beetroot, ridge guard, bottle guard, cucumber, tomato) In this way we can provide to our body all the vitamins. So that we don’t feel sick and tired. While preparing juice mix with honey or dates, instead of sugar.
3)For breakfast, we can have wholemeal bread or sprouts (made by black eyed beans, red kidney beans, chick peas, green gram).
4)In the middle of breakfast and lunch water needs to be taken.
5)For lunch have whole meal bread or pulkas (anything made by wheat flour is fine) Eat more green leafy vegetables and fruits and vegetable salads.
6)Once after lunch take 2 hours break. After 2 hours have fruits or any vegetable salads if you feel hungry. Again take one hour gap and drink water again.
7)Have dinner very early, at least 4 hours before we go to bed is preferable. While we are awake, food what we ate digests faster than when we sleep. Hence before we go to bed, we have to make sure that, all the calories of food has been consumed, so that there will not be any leftover deposits of extra fat in our body.
8)Last but not least, avoid completely oily foods.

In this way, if we can follow the balanced diet as mentioned above, we reduce weight in a very healthy and natural way, by not losing our health or energy levels or without any hormonal imbalance.

CAUSES OF HAIR FALL

Loss of hair at a very tender age has become a common disorder these days. It causes a great deal of concern to persons affected by loss of hair, especially Indian women who regard good hair growth with thick long hair as a sign of beauty.

Hair is formed in minute pockets in the skin, called follicles. An up growth at the base of the folic, called the papilla, actually produces hair; when a special group of cells turn amino acids into keratin, a type of protein of which hair is made. The rate of production of this protein determines hair growth. The average growth rate is about 1.2 cm per month, growing faster on women between the ages 15 and 30.

FRUIT JUICE 'GOOD FOR HEART'

A blend of fruit juices, including grape, cranberry and blackcurrant, may have benefits for the heart, research suggests.
French scientists tested the blend on pig arteries in the lab, and found it caused artery walls to relax.
It remains to be seen whether fruit juices can improve vascular health, they report in a scientific journal.

The study adds weight to evidence fruit and veg reduces heart disease risk, says the British Heart Foundation.
The researchers looked for a chemical called polyphenol in fruit and berries.
They found the most active fruits included blackcurrant, blueberry, aronia (choke berries), cranberry, lingonberry and grape.
Commenting on the study, Tracy Parker, heart health dietitian at the British Heart Foundation, said: "This research adds more weight to evidence that eating fruit and vegetables is good for us in terms of reducing our risk for heart disease.

"However, we still don't fully understand why, or whether certain fruits and vegetables are better than others. Even this study acknowledges that scientists can't yet explain any link.
"What we do know is that we should all eat a wide range of fruit and veg as part of a balanced diet, and fruit juice is a tasty and handy way of doing this.
"Don't forget though, juice contains less fibre and more sugar than the original fruit so it only counts as one of our five-a-day."
The research was published in the Royal Society of Chemistry journal, Food and Function.

CALCIUM SUPPLEMENTS INCREASE HEART ATTACKS

A new study finds that too many Calcium supplements can increase your risk of a stroke or a heart attack.
You may think nothing of taking a calcium supplement every other day - and till now, may have assumed not just that it's beneficial, but harmless too!Think again - A study published in the British Medical Journal finds it could increase your risk of stroke and heart attack by 20 per cent, by depositing in the arteries and causing a blockage."Over a period of time when the cholesterol has settled over there...the Calcium present in the body will also go and deposit in those and as the blockage gets older and older the blockages become harder," said a Cardiologist.
The researchers studied over 16 thousand healthy postmenopausal women, and found that extra calcium increased their risk of suffering both a stroke and a heart attack by 20 per cent.
Doctors say this study in itself is not conclusive and holds for women who have hit menopause - but across the spectrum, women should exercise caution, after all data from 13 other trials, involving 29,000 people reached similar conclusions.
Yet, studies find that almost 60 per cent of Indian women are deficient in calcium, we just don't get enough in our diet. Women especially are at a higher risk of osteoporosis, but they are also at risk of heart disease, so where does that leave them?

PRACTICE YOGA IN THE EARLY MORNING



Best time to practice yoga is in the early morning between 4-5 am. I understand, it might have been long time for many of us seen clock at 4:00am. But This is the precious time to get the essense of yoga physically and mentally.  Nowadays, both husband and wife  working and they get up late either at 6 or 7 am, and start finishing their work in hurry. From the time we wake-up, tention and hurry is within us, on top of that if we go to office, again we have to face there many more tentions. Full day we live with tention and anxiety which is the root cause for our health damage. Where is the time to think about ourselves, where is the time to speak to our mind? "Overweight or obese girls who were able to attain a healthy weight when they were an adult, they didn't have an increased risk of depression," lead researcher Kristy Sanderson said.

"It was only overweight girls who became obese women ... they had twice the risk of depression, so it was quite a strong effect, " he said.

"If they're overweight for a long period of time, because we're talking about 20 years here, they've got all of that exposure to negative self image, low self esteem."

OXFORD RESEARCH - BREASTFEED BABY FOR BETTER HEALTH

Children who are breastfed for four months or more develop fewer behaviour problems, Oxford researchers say.

The study, involving 10,000 mothers and their babies and in journal Archives of Disease in Childhood, says that may be because of the make-up of breast milk.
Or, it says, breastfeeding may lead to better mother-baby interaction.
Breastfeeding is already associated with other health benefits for babies, including lower rates of infection and less obesity in later life.
Researchers looked at the feeding habits of 10,037 mothers and their babies involved in a large study known as the Millennium Cohort Study.

I feel it’s lucky to be born as a girl on this earth.  I said this because; we can give birth to a baby. Though it’s hard to go through the birth process, it is precious for every woman to become a mother.  In the reproduction system of women, they have to go through periods every month. The summer months are bound to bring with them aches, pains, itching, fatigue and sneezing because of all the heat and humidity in the air. Today we will understand two of the most basic allergy-preventing yoga asanas that help sooth your body's reaction to the heat. 


According to the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology , allergic rhinitis, which is popularly known as hay fever, occurs when the inner walls of your nose get swollen because of something you have inhaled. It further leads to a release of a substance known as histamines. According to medical experts, histamines are responsible for your puffy eyes and runny nose and they can be dealt with yoga.

When you suffer from allergies, your immune system weakens making you agitated and stressed. An unwinding exercise like yoga will help in fighting your body's fight-or-flight response and warding off allergies. Make sure that you are performing these yoga exercises in a closed room to avoid outdoor irritants.

Warrior Pose I
Warrior Pose will allow your lungs and chests to open up and will drain that irritating mucus which is the main cause of your stuffiness.

Method
Stand straight, placing your feet firmly together and arms close to your body. Breathe in and place your feet hip-width apart. Now, raise your both your arms over your head and make sure your palms are facing each other. Breathe out by turning your left leg out 90 degrees to the right and your right leg in approximately around 55 degrees to the left. Exhale by twisting your torso and hip to face your left leg. Exhale and form a right angle with your shin and thigh by bending your left knee. Hold this position for 2 minutes and repeat on the right side. Watch video here.

Half Moon Pose
Half moon pose helps you in breathing normally by opening up your lungs and chest area.

Method
Stand straight, placing your feet firmly together and arms close to your body. Breathe in and place your feet hip-width apart. Breathe out by turning your left leg out by 90 degrees to the left. Breathe in and extend your arm out to your shoulder-height. Breathe out and reach your left arm as much as you can to your left. Now, hold your left hand down to the floor and form a Triangle Pose. Hold yourself in this position for 2 to 4 breaths.

Further, place your right hand firmly on your hip by bending your left knee a little, and skate your right foot so that it comes near to the left one. Breathe in by reaching your left foot fingertips on the floor as you lift your right leg. Meanwhile lift your right arm and set your eyes on it. Hold this position for 4 to 6 breaths.

To come out of this position, place your right arm to its original position. Focus on the floor by slightly bending your left knee and lowering your right leg. Flatten your left knee, coming back to the Triangle pose. Change the sides and repeat! Watch video here.

WATER THERAPY

I know, it can be a surprising fact for all of you if I say treatment can be taken with water. But yes, anything can be cured, with proper intake of water, in certain timings of our daily lifestyle. Water should be taken in certain timings, to get the essence of it. If we don't take water properly the body loses the power of purifying the blood. It loses the resistance power, so we have to make sure to clean or purify our body every day by drinking water, as explained below.

SURPRISING FACTS OF EATING NUTS DAILY

Nuts are of course a fatty food and many might worry that they will put on weight by eating more nuts. After all, 30 grams (or one ounce) of most nuts contain about 800 kilojoules (200 kilocalories). Happily though, on present evidence, nuts do not seem to cause weight gain. For example in the Nurses' Study the frequent nut consumers were actually a little thinner on average than those who almost never consumed nuts, and daily supplements of almonds or peanuts for six months resulted in little or no increase in body weight. Nuts appear to satisfy hunger sufficiently well to appropriately reduce the consumption of other food.

    The improtance of grains and sprouts and nutrients has been posted in my earlier posts. Grains has all  Essential Nutrients like Carbohydrates, Protiens, Energy, Calcium, Iron, Minerals.  We just need to know, which grain has which nutrient and of what quantity. Whole grains are loaded with vitamins and minerals, especially in the bran and germ, but these components are often removed when some grain products are processed, such as when wheat is processed into the white flour and brown rice is processed as white rice.

HEART PATIENTS - FAR FROM PAIN KILLERS

A new study has warned that even short-term use of some painkillers like ibuprofen could be dangerous for people who've had a heart attack.

Researchers analysed the duration of prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) treatment and cardiovascular risk in a nationwide Danish cohort of patients with prior heart attack.

They found the use of NSAIDs was associated with a 45 per cent increased risk of death or recurrent heart attack within as little as one week of treatment, and a 55 per cent increased risk if treatment extended to three months.

FOODS TO AVOID - TO PREVENT MIGRAINE

There are many possible triggers of migraine headaches, including foods, stress, sensory stimulation (such as bright lights, strong smells, loud noises or changes in weather), hormones and more.


Skipping meals, taking certain medicines or being very tired can also bring on a migraine.

SOUTH KOREAN STUDY ON AUTISM

While previous studies have suggested autism affects about 1 in every 110 children in the United States, a new study estimates the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders in South Korea to be about 1 in 38 children. This finding suggests autism has been underdiagnosed and underreported, and may lead to an increase in the number of autism cases diagnosed.


ANXIETY WEAKENS YOUR BONES

Researchers from Deakin in Australia and Norwegian universities analysed data of over 8,000 men and women from central Norway and found a link between depressive symptoms and reduction in bone mineral density.


Participants underwent forearm bone mineral density scans, reports the Journal of Affective Disorders.

Deakin researcher Lana Williams said, "It was found that depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms in men were associated with lower bone mineral density."

"There are several known risk factors for low bone mineral density, such as advance age, gender (women are at greater risk than men), familial predisposition, low levels of sex hormones, inadequate calcium intake and vitamin D deficiency," Williams said.

"It is possible that poor mental health could be another one of these risk factors."

Recently, the possible association between psychiatric illness - particularly depression - and osteoporosis has been the subject of a growing body of research.

WHEN WE GET OLDER WHY OUR BRAIN LOSE MEMORY POWER GRADUALLY

A new study from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) has shed light on why our brains produce fewer and fewer neurons with age, a phenomenon thought to underlie age-related cognitive decline. 

The study suggested that this drop in production is due to the shrinking cache of adult stem cells in our brains.

The new neurons are critical for some facets of memory—for instance, when similar events need to be memorized as separate episodes—and for the response to anti-depressant therapies and repair after brain injury.


"That the production of new neurons declines with age has been well established, but why this happens has been a matter of debate," said Associate Professor Grigori Enikolopov, who led the CSHL team.

Between one month and two years of age—a mouse's normal life span—the scientists observed a 100-fold decrease in the number of brain stem cells.

The rate of this decrease slowed with age, but the output per cell—measured as the number of progeny each cell gives rise to—increased, which Enikolopov said might be a strategy to cope with the loss of stem cells.

Enikolopov's group found that the adult stem cells in the brain remain quiescent for a prolonged time until they are activated. They then undergo a series of rapid divisions that give rise to progeny that differentiate into neurons.

After that, the stem cells abandon their "stemness" by differentiating into astrocytes, a type of non-neural "helper" cells.

"This implies that each adult brain stem cell is used only once and hence is disposable, as opposed to stem cells in the blood or gut that self-renew many times during the lifespan," said Enikolopov.

Obese Teens Lack Vitamin D

Researchers screened 68 obese adolescents and found low vitamin D levels in all of the girls (72 percent were deemed deficient and 28 percent insufficient) and in 91 percent of the boys (69 percent deficient and 22 percent insufficient).
After treatment, 43 of the youths had their vitamin D levels measured again and, although levels generally increased, normal levels were achieved in just 28 percent of the participants. In the others, repeated bouts of vitamin D treatment did not bring the teens' vitamin D levels to normal, which the researchers described as "concerning."
